. Not at all! Simply open up end of unit holding empty cartridge roll, remove spent one(No residual glue will remain), insert with foil-edge out(foil should not overlap side edge) unroll enough material to get started on next item,snap shut while positioning with edges even from top box corner-to-corner(clear lid shows alignment guidelines) Then,cut-off any unusable material past starting point if needed.The rest is easy-lamination bliss again!
